Advantages

Fast interactive workflow

The Imalytics Preclinical software uses the massive processing power of a GPU (graphics processing unit) to speed up processing time for segmentation and rendering, to achieve a fast interactive work flow.

Easy-to-use interface

The program is easy to use and does not need any prior knowledge. Furthermore, it includes an informative and well-understandable manual as well as several tutorial videos showing the first steps and basic analysis with the software. Example data sets of different modalities (CT, PET, SPECT, MRI, FMT; BLT, US) and samples (single or four mouse scan, contrast-enhanced liver tissue with liver tumors, cortical and trabecular bone, bone implants, cardiac images) are available and can be used for training.

Most users quickly learn to use the software within a few hours.

The program allows processing and visualization of three different data sets:
1. Underlay (e.g. CT)
2. Segmentation map (e.g. segmented organs)
3. Overlay  (e.g. three-dimensional fluorescence distribution)

A semi-automated organ segmentation algorithm enables fast and accurate whole-body organ segmentations or the analysis of certain regions or organs of interest.

World wide access using the Azure Cloud

With the Microsoft Azure Cloud, Imalytics Preclinical can be used on every computer (Windows, MAC) and is a perfect home office solution. The used computers don´t need any special technical requirements, no complicated software or drivers have to be downloaded.

Further information about the Cloud solution can be found here: Azure Cloud

Comprehensive manual is available

The manual offers a detailed description of all functions of Imalytics Preclinical.

Tutorials and Tool tips

Imalytics Preclinical is installed with more than ten tutorials for different applications, e.g. dynamic PET-CT-SPECT scans, organ segmentation, trabecular bone analysis, and image fusion. The tutorials are provided as videos with an example data set and the respective white paper. The videos have built-in subtitles in English, Chinese, German, and other languages. All the training videos come along with the data set that is shown in the respective video tutorial. Thus, the user can practise with the same dataset.

All functions and operations of Imalytics Preclinical are described with tool tips. They help the user to find the correct operation in a short time.

Imaging modalities

Imalytics Preclinical supports 3D, 4D, and 5D image data from any modality, as long as the file format is supported. It has been used to analyze data sets from CT, PET, SPECT, MRI, ultrasound, fluorescence and bioluminescence tomography. Imalytics Preclinical is particularly suitable for multimodal image analysis such as PET-CT, FMT-CT, SPECT-CT, PET-SPECT-CT, or MRI-CT.

Technical requirements

A locally installed version of Imalytics Preclinical is working with Windows operating systems. It runs on PCs or laptop computers and runs faster with NVIDIA GPU graphic card (but not required) with Cuda compute capability (https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus).

However, using the Azure cloud solution, Imalytics Preclinical can be used from any computer (Windows, MAC) from any place in the world.
